In April of 2019, Mobile Paving signed on as the sponsor of the medals for the Western Summer Canada Games that would be hosted that upcoming summer. It was also at the same time that the first prototypes of the medal had arrived, and it was about to be 100 days away from the games taking place.
I had won a design contest for the medal design earlier in the year, and was taken aback by how much press I was given at that time. I didn't expect to get more press, so this was very flattering and exciting.
The WCSG staff wanted to make some noise, so these three events were rolled into one with a press conference for the sponsor and medal reveal. I met with the owners of Mobile Paving at their location, as well as representation from the Western Summer Canada Games, Southwest Booster, Prairie Post, Swift Current Online, and Southwest TV News. It is always a bit nerve wracking, but it's fun at the same time.
